Also for your enjoyment in addition to the Vine Theater, Livermore’s 10-screen Cineplex opened recently and we are anxiously awaiting the opening of the 500 seat Performing Arts Center later in 2007.
The Robert Livermore Community Center has something for everyone. From the Tot Drop (allows Mom to go exercise or run errands) to a Computer Lab for Senior or how about a Senior outing? Run by Livermore Area Parks and Recreation District (LARPD ), they ever organize trail rides. Im sure you can find something for the entire family there even if its just going for a dip at the pool.
Do you like to play golf in Livermore? Well Livermore has 4 golf courses to choose from3;Springtown Golf Course, Las Positas, Poppy Ridge and Wente. Wente Golf Course is the site of The Livermore Valley Wine Country Championship PGA Nationwide Tour that is held in March.
What about wine tasting? Well Livermore now has almost 40 wineries with approximately 5,000 acres of vineyards from which you can choose. Livermore wineries attract more than 500,000 visitors each year. Pack a picnic lunch and take a drive through the countryside of Livermore and taste some of the finest wines in the area.
The Livermore Valley Winegrowers Foundation is the host to such events as the Taste of Terroir held in July, the Annual Harvest Wine Celebration held over Labor Day weekend, and the Holidays in the Vineyards held in December and a Wine Auction that raises money for charity. The Livermore Wine Auction has donated $1.75 million to local childrens charities over the last 10 years.
